LEGEND OF NEVETSECNUAC - THE RENEGADE IMMORTAL - SECTION 22

LEGEND OF NEVETSECNUAC - THE RENEGADE IMMORTAL - SECTION 22

Zonar was about to take his leave when he just then having picked up Nevetsecnuac’s subsequent thoughts, for a brief spell inquisitively stared at his nephew.

“How very perceptive of you. You are indeed an astute nephew.”

01-ZONAR - IMMORTAL (46)JP

It so happened that ever since the Prime Minister's party where which Nevetsecnuac had encountered the alien Cassar, Samnuk, though this part of his memories had been erased, he still had the enigmatically foreboding, gnawing feeling in the pit of his stomach. The unease had stemmed from the fragmented, cryptic, and disjointed images that had oftentimes intruded into his mind's eye, which he had never been able to rightly resolve or decipher. Until just now that is- when from an inadvertent, illogical notion (a thought deviation), it had all come together to make a coherent deduction (sense, conclusion).

Nevetsecnuac had understood then that, once a link had been established between the entity in the amulet (that was an alien rock spirit imprisoned in a watery grave) and the host- it held an eternal and vital importance to, in this case Zonar's, existence. Overall, the amulet and the single creature within was indestructible; and it could always be retrieved. This realization generated within Nevetsecnuac the keen sense of relief and the need to repay at least in some small measure, Zonar’s kindness to him, by communicating this insight to Zonar, before his arch-nemesis Dwengzur, got hold of the amulet.

Before Nevetsecnuac could verbalize his thoughts, however, Zonar knowingly just then had smiled and held up his hand. "There's no need to caution me; however, I do appreciate your bother." He grinned as his hand unwittingly clutched the hidden bulk (at chest level) under his chemise (blouse, top).

“I have already retrieved it. “

What Zonar, pressed for time, had opted at this point not to disclose to Nevetsecnuac however, was the fact that this amulet which held within it a seditious Cassar creature, this one originally called Mokak, had once belonged to his father Zandar (Chandor) Kuntzu.  A rush of historical facts, all the same, intruding into his brain, Zonar pensively looked away:

In primordial times Cassars, species that were innately, by nature supercilious (haughty), odious (vile), and oftentimes ruthless (brutal, savage), had once been the catalyst of the catastrophic dissention (discord) among existing ancient races.

02- A WARRIOR CASSARS

These primordial races, set against one another, the once supreme elite powers warring over several millennia had all consequently one by one had been eradicated (purged and extinguished). After another two millennia the Cassars, result of a long-drawn-out war, fortunately had been finally and utterly (rooted out) defeated by the omnipotent (invincible) Race of Karn. As sole remaining custodians of this world, by consensus of the elders of Karn, they had spared (the few remaining) Cassars from total annihilation only to imprison them, meanwhile allowing the mortal species to have the sole dominion over Earth. Since that time spanning several centuries now race of Karn, had secretly coexisted with men, dwelling in the remotest, highest elevation of the icy peaks- all the while, affording humankind that certain measure of safety, as the few mutated  Cassars - (the resilient ones that had later, due to the conditions of their incarceration had evolved into entirely different form, which Samnuk and Mokak were of) - had been indefinitely imprisoned in the protective water crystal amulets.

03- MUTATED CASSARS ( MOKAK IS ONE, LATER NAMED JEKOR)

These amulets presently worn only by the elite members of the Karn Race had always been considered a bane to be endured till the end of time; because each Karn from since then had incessantly perceived (was aware of) that specific creature’s every sensation, discernment, impressions, shrewdness, and experiences, most of it abhorrently vile!

On rare occasions, when an immortal for some reason or other ceased to exist (died), his amulet was then transferred to another suitable candidate. When Mokak became available, the most Ancient one Aegeus had bestowed the amulet containing Mokak to Chandor, at his third birthday’ special ceremony.  And so, Mokak from hence had been Chandor’s ward, till the date of Chandor’s (renegade immortal Zandar Kuntzu’s) untimely demise in the mortal realm.

04-ZANDAR (CHANDOR) KUNTZU - IMMORTAL (2)jp

Cassars had always been endowed (gifted) with supernatural prowess, but Mokak, (later re-named Jekor by Zonar, Zandar Kuntzu’s twin son) being an anomaly, with a split personality, being also a clairvoyant and an adept shape shifter, was an additionally challenging, most troublesome bane that,  Zonar like his father Chandor before him had to,  most of his adult  life, endure. A small consolation, at least Zonar had not been burdened with this menace during his youth; for as toddler Zonar had been secreted away and spent his early childhood years under the diligent care and tutelage of human foster parents, flourishing as a well-loved, robust, brilliant mortal being.  Zonar’s contented existence, however, had abruptly ceased (ended, altered the moment Chandar had died)- as he had been then inexplicably drawn to this, albeit temporarily, liberated alien form.

At distant locale, the Cassar Mokak being quite resourceful, upon the sudden demise of (Zonar’s father) Zandar Kuntzu, had successfully affected its escape from his liquid captivity and thence, was let loose in the mortal realm.

Consequently, Zonar’s mundane human existence from that moment on had had a catastrophic, tumultuous modification: for his prior placid, methodical (organized) mind had incessantly since then warred with his body. Any lesser being had gone utterly insane by such onslaught. Zonar, harangued by the inexorable physical ailments, sporadic pain, perpetual nightmares and physic torment, had been eventually driven to seek out (search for) and uncover the truth about his true lineage and worst still, discover the existence of the imperative (indispensable) birthright bond, the eternal, crucible (tribulation) link with Mokak. This was because Zonar and Zandar, father and son, had shared the same key genes (chromosomes); subsequently, Zonar had been forced to steadfastly hunt (retrieve) Mokak, to enslave him and to regain his prior sanity (control of his brain) and his physical wellbeing.

05-MOKAK AND HIS ALTER EGO

Pursued doggedly by Zonar the adroit Mokak, to avoid capture and to gain substance and therefore be imperceptible to detection, had striven hard to blend, in other words copulate, with a mortal living being. After several unsuccessful tries, where which Mokak’d left behind several charred human remains and a range of mammal corpses, he had eventually attained through the process of elimination, the essential specifics to triumph. Primarily, it had to be an adult female, still virgin, with the rare blood type (AB-). Secondly, the mortal concept of love, the kind of ardor which human couples had often exhibited for one another, had to exist at the time of consensual union; the absence of any of these key ingredients would absolutely doom the procedure (experiment, the modus operandi).

By quark of fate, while hiding away at the furthest Province of Wenjenkun’s inhospitable, remote mountain, Mokak had encountered Jiense (Princess Teuquob and later still, Prince Nevetsecnuac’s wife) during her flight from danger. (To learn more: peruse, BOOK 2-THE ORDEAL- SECTION 8 or earlier sections).

After the alien creature’s stealthy scrutiny, finding Jiense a perfectly compatible candidate from then on Mokak, had set his sights onto seducing her and achieving his goal. To disarm Jiense’s fears, he’d right away quickly assumed the appearance of a rather pleasant looking, bold headed, clean shaven young man about her age; then manifesting suddenly before her, Mokak had presented himself to her as one supposedly from an aristocratic family from Kontu that had fallen on hard times and then become a devout Monk who presently, was on a religious pilgrimage.

Mokak could have done an irrevocable harm to Jiense (Princess Teuquob) and to his (Zonar’s) nephew, Prince Nevetsecnuac, as well, permanently altered Wenjenkun’s history. Fortunately, and just in time too, Mokak (re-named Jekor ) had been traced, captured, and then duly contained in an amulet which at present, was worn by Zonar.

Zonar grimaced and considering the alternative loath outcome, pensively looked away:

If Dwengzur had obtained Jekor, the genetic markers of the creature within the amulet, if tampered with, would have only resulted in the destruction of the alien creature and that abrupt severing of ties, could have had its own serious repercussions. Even if Dwengzur did not do this but had kept it for a while, for malice, to simply torment him (Zonar) and destabilize him, the outcome still would have been devastating. This narrow escape, hence, peeved Zonar.

Zonar’s thoughts reverting to Nevetsecnuac’s bizarre ordeal with another troublesome Cassar, Samnuk, which happened to be Dwengzur’s ward, Zonar could not resist the temptation (chance) to provoke (antagonize) the haughty Elders of Karn and specifically Dwengzur, addressing him directly:

“I was there you know, witnessing Samnuk’s defiant acts; I was the innocuous fly at the tip of the nose of one of the spellbound, frozen human participants (guests). I saw it all. I heard it all.” Zonar staring across, at the far corner of the room, had roguishly derided (taunted). Subsequently, he snickered, sensing his goading had generated (produced) rampant venomous thoughts teleported to him, as it had simultaneously thawed a degree of the immortals’ icy blood.

06- SOME ELDERS OF KARN (LOOKING DISPLEASED)

Zonar nevertheless quickly suppressed his present glee (delight); then, he turned his serious but affectionate gaze back on Nevetsecnuac.

“Yes, one might say you fared well in that terrible altercation. You, a supposed primitive human, have taught them a fine lesson they soon will not forget; furthermore, they will not be so quick to underestimate your kind in future.”

"They… Who are …?" Nevetsecnuac was puzzled.

“The unwarranted and outmoded eavesdroppers….” Zonar disdainfully snorted and looked away, and then turning impatiently added, “Extrapolating your prior concern, let us just say I had a hunch, so I went back for it. After all, it was a keepsake from my father.”

“Now I must bid you my fond farewell."  Zonar turned to go but then stayed (halted) his footing and ceased mid-way his mumbled incantation; after a brief consideration, he simply shrugged.

"Oh, why not; I can see no good reason why you should be kept in the dark."

Despite the looming danger Zonar lingered just a little while longer at the spot to bestow on his nephew, Nevetsecnuac, a fine parting gift.

Subsequently, with a wave of his hand, Zonar created a circular opening in the mid-air of the room- a window of sorts. His face temporarily sported a strange, acerbic expression as his disdainful eyes taunted and then threatened the far away foe.

To the utter disquiet of some of the Elders of Karn and concealed fury of Sthetor, Zonar had then invoked, brazenly, the ancient incantation. When he had reached the last part of the incantation, however,

"Do-kume...ke..ki... sooonures do …

mukenoro qu wuuuos…. Hukoressyonner….”

"Kazuuuummm… “

Zonar had then deliberately added an unknown variation (factor, canto, verse) to it. This would enable, Nevetsecnuac to view the unfolding scene (the live images, the setting and the characters) which had been purposefully obscured (hidden, muddled, concealed) to the snooping (prying) Immortals.

07-ZONAR - IMMORTAL (37)JP

Zonar next turned with a softer expression to face Nevetsecnuac and, graciously invited him to once more experience and view the mountain cabin of his youth.

The scene presented a typical night-time routine after a hard day’s toil; the occupants of the dwelling having concluded a hearty (nourishing) repast and cleared away the dishes from the table, they had now, before going to bed, few hours' time with which to indulge in their leisure pursuits.  Nevetsecnuac's eyes presently beheld the typical warm and comforting sight in that far away Mountain Cabin, a place that had been for two decades, his home. The rush of countless exciting recollections and loving memories of those times had, all at once then, (with a warm glow) inundated his heart.

08- LORD ASGER THUXUR MARROG ZHON  (162)jp

Through misty eyes Nevetsecnuac now observed how perfectly still Lord Asger Thuxur Marrog Zhon, having aged a little more, was seated in a familiar pose by the fire. How characteristically, in rapped attention he read those old manuscripts, one a night, pausing only periodically, to deliberate on a concern and at the same time inhaled a prolonged (drawn out) intake of smoke from his pipe.

Nevetsecnuac’s eyes had next trailed to his beloved wife Teuquob, seated with composure, in proximity to the warming fire. As beautiful as ever, she was diligently practicing calligraphy at her desk. Her skill had much improved, far surpassing his!

Nevetsecnuac looking over her shoulder unseen and unheard, marveled at her penmanship and the proficiency of the ink strokes as they effortlessly glided on the (paper) parchment. As though sensing his presence, she abruptly stopped, exhaled a deep sigh and then withdrew the string of wound threads he’d long ago after one of their long walks, had given to her when she had casually asked what he had been doing? He had felt nervous during their conversation and so used his hands to focus on something else. He could not believe that after all that time she still held onto it, that she treasured something so trivial and looked at it now with such longing in her pupils.

09-NEVET'S WIFE TEKOUBJIN  (70  B )JP

He fought the sudden desire rising within him, wanting to embrace her, to stroke her auburn locks; to reach out and tuck the stray loose hair behind her ear. Oh, how he longed to gently caress her cheeks and then ever so reverently kiss the tip of her nose, which always made her smile, kiss her forehead and those luscious lips.

His soul and heart were now filled with melancholy, for he loved and missed her so terribly; his present existence contrastingly, had been so driven, austere, and devoid of such candor, tenderness, and tranquility. Moreover, he suspected deep down that he would never ever again be with her or with them.

A sorrowful sigh escaped him as his focus (gaze) lastly settled on his beloved, a little bit older, and now not so identical twins. His precious, robust (strong, healthy, and hardy in constitution) boy twin Alric Svein and darling, most precious girl twin Lueling, as they with wonder glint in their eyes observed (studied) everything and all, about them as they played.

Only the child’s vastly rich imagination could flourish (enabled) and hold such wonders as twins remained deeply absorbed, intensely captivated by some imaginary yet ordinary item (object): perhaps a specter, a crawling bug, a bird, a simply fallen log, a crackling flame, or a discarded, a plainly innocuous toy.

10- THE TWINS , BOY ALRIC SVEIN AND PRECIOUS GIRL TWIN LUELING.

Nevetsecnuac’s heart was again wrenched with melancholy anticipating the many dangers and hardships that awaited them, even though Lord Asger would do his utmost to shield them from it all.

“You are being way too morbid.” Zonar’s testy, stern words snapped Nevetsecnuac from his ominous reflections.

"You should instead rejoice in your heart that you have such striking and gifted twins, perfectly well behaved too; funny how the boy is the spitting image of you, whereas the little girl now resembles more and more your astonishingly beautiful wife Princes,

Teuquob.” Zonar softening, grinned mischievously as though entertaining a secret; but

                                                                              ~

one he was not willing to divulge, not at this moment in time. “Imagine if Lueling had instead, looked like you.”

Nevetsecnuac remained quite unresponsive to Zonar’s purposeful banter however, as he could not tear his eyes from the scene. He watched as though obsessed, oblivious of the tears filling his eyes.

The fearful emotions, of trepidation about their prospects, once more welling up in his heart, Nevetsecnuac broke away from the scene by a sheer act of will and turned to ask Zonar if he could enlighten him on their probable futures, but the renegade Immortal had already gone, vanished into thin air, without a sound or a trace some time ago.

Disappointed, Nevetsecnuac (spun his head back) turned to look again at the scene in mid-air, but the window that beheld his beloveds’ images, too, had also disappeared as if it had never existed. Suddenly the light was gone as well, and pitch darkness once more had blanketed (permeated) the room.

His emotions, meanwhile, erupting akin to the cyclone winds (or, charged akin to lightning bolts); Nevetsecnuac simply collapsed in the chair by the bed and closed his eyes tightly for some time, to beget (tranquility) serenity, in that thought-filled silence.

“Am I crying?”

Only then had he become aware of the copious number of hot tears streaming down from his cheeks and chin; the cascading flow subsequently, progressively, drenching (soaking) the upper part of his silk night garment (pajamas, clothes).

LEGEND OF NEVETSECNUAC - THE RENEGADE IMMORTAL - SECTION 20

LEGEND OF NEVETSECNUAC -THE RENEGADE IMMORTAL - SECTION 20

(REVISED 2026-04-20)

Only a handful of Elders of Karn and His Eminence Olavingemar had been privy to Aegeus’s secret, that Chandor (Zandar Kuntzu) and his offspring (twin son) Zonar, were both related to Aegeus by blood, and now it seemed, through his carelessness, the secret had been revealed to ambitious Sthetor as well. Aegeus put this concern aside and directed his attention instead, on the matter at hand.

01- AEGEUS  (1)B JP

What made Zonar even more hazardous, was the fact that his blood also carried the mixed gene (although it was dormant) from his Immortal mother Tekubzan. She, the only daughter of His Eminence Olavingemar, had the rare phoenix chromosome, which had, once in every aeon, passed down to female genera of Kongrul. Zonar’s twin sister Arnora (also known as Ingrit) had died young, well before it could be determined whether she had the gene or not. The rare Phoenix genetic material (chromosome, DNA) once manifested at maturity, at about thirty-five, from then on would enable the immortal female to transform, at will, into a phoenix or into a phoenix/human hybrid. Such a being also, via the blue flames, would possess immense regenerative healing powers. They could utilize their power to heal or harm anyone, even Immortals.

Elder Aegeus had learned quite by chance, through divination, that Nevetsecnuac had also twins born to him some time prior; and one being female, she could carry that gene. He had kept this secret from all, while he decided on what this would entail and if it warranted any future action. He did not know why but an innate caution deep within, had kept him weary of Sthetor, and decidedly silent on this matter as he wish to keep Sthetor in the dark about this.

The ancient race of Kongruls, despite the immeasurable distance, once had a kinship (alliance, special link), with the race of Karn. Unfortunately, the revered race of Kongruls had virtually been annihilated during the cataclysmic wars, save for the three (that Aegeus knew of): His Eminence Olavingemar, his precious daughter Tekubzan, and of course,

Sthetor. All three-surviving Kongruls, had been readily and without prejudice (generously) accepted into the main fold of, Karn race. Moreover, in a noticeably abbreviated time, both, benevolent Oavingemar and (problematic) Sthetor had achieved prominent positions.

Notwithstanding their different prior status in Kongrul Race, for Olavingemar had been a venerated, intellectual aristocrat whereas Sthetor had been an ordinary, (rigid, obdurate) intransigent warrior and a seir (diviner). The two had outwardly been congenial (affable) towards each other and, often cooperated on pressing matters; but underneath it all, Aegeus had sensed (detected)from the very beginning, the enduring (lifelong, unwavering) hostility between Olavingemar and Sthetor. They were, moreover, as different as day and night. This aggression had reached its zenith once, when in a private meeting between the three honoured Elders of Karn, Aegeus, Olavingemar and Sthetor, audacious Sthetor (who was Olavingemar’s age but didn’t show it) had proposed to wed Tekubzan when she had reached the age of maturity, to perpetuate their race. She was no more than (earth-years of) four at the time.

02-- STHETOR IMMORTAL (16)JP

Olavingemar barely able to contain his ire (indignation, wrath), he had simply bolted from his seat and, without a word, left the meeting. Things were supposed to have been smoothed later, but Aegeus had remained doubtful of the validity of that claim. Furthermore, from then on Olavingemar had remained guarded against Sthetor. Aegeus, nevertheless, not wishing to pry (meddle), had not broached the subject with either of them.

Then hundred years later, at a typical Divination Ceremony where, each new generation at the age of ten Earth years was evaluated, His Eminence Olavingemar the Most Supreme Elder of Karn Race, assisted by Sthetor , had disclosed then manifest ominous prediction that, the child Tekubzan was unfortunately, the carrier of a seed that would be the harbinger of the Race of Karn’s utter obliteration (eradication). To prevent this from ever happening, by a majority vote, she had been in a fortnight, condemned to death.

His Eminence Olavigemar, nevertheless, privately that night had reconsulted the Heavens and, achieving a different interpretation as well, an alternative to the execution, she had been instead, sentenced to a much crueler fate of being imprisoned for life at a secret location, behind an impenetrable one piece of solid rock, where which its thickness muted all sound, inside one of the divisions (tunnels) of the deepest recesses of the Cave. There she was left to live, the rest of her long life, in solitary confinement and in pitch darkness.

Secrecy being paramount, Olavigemar and Aegeus had been the sole ones that knew the whereabouts of her prison. At least she would be alive. Elders of Karn being habitually indifferent (apathetic), they had all agreed to this, save for Sthetor. Aegeus had seen his ugly side then, especially when latter’s arguments had been superseded (overridden). More importantly, Aegeus had detected just for a spell before Sthetor had supplanted it (replaced, masked), the hint of his unease in his eye- the almost feeling of foreboding or fear- at his inability to affect her immediate demise.

03-HIS EMINENCE OLAVINGEMAR  (2)JP

Olavigemar meanwhile, though relieved, from then on had been unusually tight-lipped and he had never mentioned or reminisced about his beloved daughter; furthermore, he had avoided, all communication (clairvoyantly) telepathically or otherwise with her. But despite the great passage of time, he had not, not once, forsaken Tekubzan.

This Aegeous had known for certain and chosen to remain silent. Aegeus likewise discerned, that Olavigemar had kept her life-stone along with his, in a secret compartment, somewhere in his room. Life-stones had been an essential part of life in Kongrus. One year after birth, each Kongrus received a singular, unique small stone (the kind only found in Kongrus’s homeland, Tarkon), which, in a specific ceremony, on the second full moon of the year, their drop of blood was absorbed by the stone, turning it into luminescent celadon color. So long as it glowed celadon, the individual was believed to be still among the living. Since her imprisonment, Olavigemar each night before going to sleep, without fail, had checked his daughter’s life-stone.

Elder Sthetor meanwhile, keeping in mind the harsh environment she had been imprisoned in, had secretly anticipated, moreover delighted, in the probability of her early demise. But the rare Phoenix chromosome had enabled Tekubzan to survive her terrible ordeal and exacting circumstance, to eventually reach maturity. It had been the innate advantage, for her surviving in those frigid temperatures of the cave during her captivity all those years. Fluke of fate, she was destined to meet and fall in love with Chandor.

                                                                                       ~

On typically ordinary late night, warned of her death by the Life-stone, Aegeus and Olavigemar had rushed over at once to investigate and discovered, to their great dismay, the breach, and the resulting clear devastation at that part of the Cave.

Olavigemar had evoked the spell, so did Aegeus, to discover the truth about what had transpired there. Both Elders had picked up Chandor’s and Tekubzan’s residues, but even then, they had failed to unlock the mystery of what sort of calamity had occurred there; and more importantly, who the evil perpetrator had been, that so brazenly violated at least two of their sacred laws.

Additionally, both had understood, that an unknown incantation, far more powerful spell, had been cast to hide the truth from both Elders of Karn. But the cave had disclosed five or six clues nevertheless, that there had been number of happy events there, that must have culminated in two young immortals eventually falling in love and becoming a couple.

04- CHANDOR AND TEKUBZAN

Aegeus had never cogitated the possibility of a union between (two varied species) a Karn and a Kongrus; he was shocked, as everyone else, when the secret liaison between the condemned Tekubzan and Chandor became known. The esteemed elders, Aegeus and Olavigemar moreover, secretly been elated and amazed, at the discovery of traces that revealed the existence of an offspring grandchildren, more specifically twins, born to the loving couple.

The spotted (noted, discerned) indicators had revealed next, of a violent intrusion and the subsequent dire (catastrophic) struggle, obviously, between Tekubzan and the evil perpetrator.

In the end she had perished in the fire, as her charred remains had been found in a heap. The offender, after the evil deed, had unfortunately, clear gotten away, as there had been no residue or remains of him, left behind.

05- THE RESIDUE IN CAVE

Fortunately, Tekubzan had successfully hidden her newborn twins well before her devastating engagement (fight, struggle) with the indomitable foe, for the infants (boy and girl) whom she had named Zonar and Arnora, had remained unharmed through it all. She had achieved this, by transferring a great deal of her powers to the babies, at the time of the twins’ birth; this unfortunately had left her vulnerable, and far less able to thwart (offset, counter) the perpetrator’s assaults.

It took no great imagination to envision Chandor’s frustration, his ire (rage, fury), self-blame, then ultimately, his inconsolable grief, to have arrived there too late and well after the devastating fight. Intrepid Tekubzan, anticipating his return had nevertheless managed to leave a message for him, therefore, following her (telepathic) instructions, he had discovered the unharmed, hidden twins, his son Zonar and daughter Arnora. Then, according to her wishes, for the evil perpetrator had been bent on destroying their precious offsprings, Chandor had absconded the mountain along with the twins, to permanently disappear (take refuge) somewhere in the vast mortal world of Humans.

06- CHANDOR DISSAPEARS IN THE MORTAL WORLD

Aegeus from the start had innately mistrusted Sthetor; but he had all the same, still passively stood by and let Sthetor with dogged determination, rallying support from the

Elders of Karn and utilizing their ancient laws, to set forth and to destroy Chandor (Zandar Kuntzu). At the time, Aegeus had deeply resented being put in such a predicament and blamed his renegade son Chandor (Zandar), for not being capable enough to triumph against all odds.

Even though this great mystery about the identity of the evil perpetrator had never been satisfactorily resolved, Aegeus had his own suppositions, which in absence of solid proof, to date he had kept to himself. He reflected on the fact that, Stheltor at that time, on the pretext of having fallen gravely ill, had timely (absconded) gone on a surreptitious retreat to supposedly convalesce, well before the detection of Chandor’s absence, and the finding of Tekubzan’s breached prison. On his return, he had taken to always wearing gloves. The reasons for this idiosyncrasy had been successfully explained to all, except for Aegeus. Additionally, Sthetor, had been the one strong component, behind the dogged persecution, the hunting and eventual capture of Chandor. Back then, Aegeus had assumed, vindictive Sthetor had intensely (dourly) hated Chandor for attaining the love of Tekubzan, whom Sthetor coveted since her age (earth years) four and, regarded (pegged) her as his owed prize. She had been the configured, essential part of his high ambition (and sinister reasons), which he had hid behind a noble claim, of wanting to perpetuate Kongrul Race, within Karn. That was why venerable Olavigemar, from then on, had remained on his guard. In the end Sthetor had still got her, and then, exacted his ultimate revenge on Chandor.

In hindsight, Aegeus anticipated that there had been a far sinister reason behind it all; unfortunately, to present, he had failed to resolve this enigmatic quandary (perplexing dilemma).

But Sthetor was now (single mindedly) targeting to destroy his grandson Zonar. Aegeus, despite his seeming indifference, was nevertheless caught in a bind. He knew all fate can be altered; he just had not conceived yet, how to achieve alternate means. His granddaughter Arnora was already lost to him; part of him secretly wanted to preserve Zonar’s life as he saw enormous potential in his grandson.

07- ZONAR - IMMORTAL (42)JP

On the other hand, at present, Zonar posed the greatest threat to Karn Race’s welfare and lasting existence; for along with the prophesy, Zonar, was the possessor of the combination of both dragon and, albeit dormant, rare, mutated phoenix- YBXchromosome (DNA, genes). As the preservation, (safeguarding) of Karn Race had always been the paramount, (predominant) importance over everything in Aegeous’s life, he therefore anew, hardened his heart.

And so, Aegeus after his brief ponder, simply nodded, dispassionately acquiescing to Sthetor’s current, principal request; then, at the apt moment, he also gave Sthetor permission to enlighten the others, but only on the scant (limited), pertinent details.

Sthetor’s mind subsequently open to all, he checked his glee, and then looked about him for a spell, his inexpressive, (emotionless) soulless grey eyes sweeping the rapt faces.

“Indeed, it was a Divine Providence that interceded in sparing and extending Zonar's life, so that he may play a vital (most fundamental) role in determining the course of, mortal world's history.”

“Are we to do nothing, then?” All eyes asked.

“No, that's not what I meant at all.” Sthetor continued evenly, mutely. “Zonar should be apprehended at the appropriate time and accordingly dealt with; to do otherwise, would be irresponsible. But beware; it shall be a much harder task to accomplish, than we had originally anticipated. I would have thought it inconceivable but here we stand. There is no denying the fact that the renegade Immortal Chandor or Zandar Kuntzu, had somehow acquired the most ancient, taboo spell and innately passed it solely onto his progeny (offspring) Zonar; and he, in well enough time, must have learned to safely utilize it.”

“The proof lies before us. As things now stand, Zonar Kuntzu is far more resourceful than we originally anticipated. He is now a force to be reckoned with. Furthermore, if he knows this spell, which is a mere derivative, he must also be acquainted with the prohibited primordial Kekok Enchantment.”

“What!”  There was a quick exchange of looks and baffled thoughts. “But we have never heard of any Kekok Enchantment.”

“Of course, not… The very notion of its existence has been forbidden knowledge long ago. Believe me; you are all better off for not knowing it. It is the most dangerous; most volatile spell there is for, once evoked, there is no certainty of the results. In as much as it can grant you what you want, it can also, quite unpredictably and with one stroke, negate (undo, cancel out) the very Universe itself. All reality as we know it could cease to exist.”

“Zonar was by far the most fortunate being in that it worked exactly the way he wanted it to, with no serious (consequences) repercussions.”

All this while Elder Aegeus, with his head down had remained in pensive silence; now suddenly terminating (breaking off) his pondering, he looked straight at Dwengzur.  A dour voice loudly intoned in Dwengzu’s head: “There is no getting around it. You must be armed with the same knowledge, rather, be imparted (bestowed) a superior edification, if you are to succeed. Even then it may not be sure guarantee, judging by the …. Hmm…But before you respond, stand warned that there is a dire cost for this information, a sure consequence, most grievous and unalterable one. Furthermore, once you have assimilated the Kekok Enchantment along with the rest of Ultimate Supreme Elder Yokanotek’s acumen and expertise, you may no longer be allowed to associate as before with others of the Karn. You will be given only one chance, one chance only, to accomplish your mission and, upon your return you will again meet with the Ultimate Supreme Elder Yokanotek. At that precise moment of your meeting you will become the new Ultimate Supreme Elder and be given a new name; the previous Ultimate Supreme Elder Yokanotek, will then be relieved of any and all obligation to race of Karn; he will of course ascend (rise) to the higher realm, transforming into pure energy and, as an iridescent light, roam or be part of the Cosmic Universe.”

All faces regarded Dwengzur now with another strange, mixed emotion, blending of envy and abject pity, which had intrusively and suddenly resurged. As it was, they understood fully how, Zonar Kuntzu had the sure advantage over Dwengzur, to warrant such measure. Zonar endowed with unusual and not yet fully comprehended powers, would be able to coexist indefinitely (hundreds, if not thousands of years) with the creatures at the outside world. It was also clear to all that unlike Zonar, Dwengzur’s time at the outside world, after he had assimilated the Kekok Enchantment, would be provisional; he only had comparatively (limited,) shorter span, with which to fulfill his mission and return before his innate powers indubitably were sapped. If he failed, as consequence, he would then either became a mortal being with no memory of past or, if he were lucky, it brought about his immediate and dreadful end, which meant that he would simply cease to exist, no residue energy, no light, nothing.

08- DWENGZUR (8)JP

“Even so, I am resolute!” Dwengzur vociferously declared.

Elder Aegeus with an unreadable expression simply stared at Dwengzur for a long time.

“Very well then, after you take a moment or two, to bid your farewells, you may then follow me to the interior to receive the highly classified instructions from Ultimate Supreme Elder Yokanotek, for only he can impart to you the knowledge you will require.”

The Elder Aegeus rose slowly from his seat and now waited until Dwengzur made his brief and unemotional farewells to those present then came to stand beside him. When Dwengzur was in position, Elder Aegeus mumbled the secret incantation. Instantly he and Dwengzur, were both reduced to two glowing, flickering balls of light that shot through the air towards the far cavern wall and passing through it, promptly disappeared.

LEGEND OF NEVETSECNUAC - ON THE WAY TO THE CAPITAL - SECTION 4

LEGEND OF NEVETSECNUAC - ON THE WAY TO THE CAPITAL - SECTION 4

In truth the Immortal Zonar Kuntzu’s loss was only temporary; after an arduous effort, he would eventually regain (recover) all that he’d lost.

Nevetsecnuac could not of course have imagined the extent of hazard he’d at present instigated, for the danger unleashed upon the world, albeit temporary, was very much real, as this amulet (that had housed the dangerous entity Cassar, who was called Mokak, later renamed, Jenor) was in fact more than Zonar’s family heirloom (a birthright article). The imprisoned entity within the amulet had once been bound to Zonar’s father Zandar Kuntzu’s genetic factor (DNA).

01- ZANDAR KUNTZU

Zandar, though later was considered a renegade Immortal, had once despite his youth, had held a prominent position within the ruling elite (of elders), of the ancient race of Karn. Upon Zandar’s demise, because of his specific genetic link to Zonar, this onerous responsibility of safekeeping the amulet, a lifelong sentence that could not be erased or shirked (evaded, dodged) whatever the circumstance, had then been (trussed, tethered) passed down to Zonar.

Centuries earlier Cassars, a troublesome race had been the catalyst of a catastrophic dissention (discord) among existing ancient races; set against one another the irreconcilable differences and disparaging venom had resulted in the eventual destruction of the many primordial elite powers. Only the most resilient race of Karn (and few other races that had integrated within its modules) had triumphed; hence, decade later ending the cataclysmic wars and furthermore, conquering then imprisoning, the few remaining Cassars of this unruly (rowdy) race that had instigated (triggered) it all.

02 -  CASSARS )

Adversarial elements of these Cassars properly contained, spanning several centuries now the armistice (truce and resulting concord) had lasted on Earh, as the dominant race of Karn, as well, few remaining subsidiary custodians of this world, had peacefully coexisted well hidden in the remotest corners (chiefly at the summits and at the icy peaks), result of having graciously allowed the species of men the sole dominion over (placid, more climatically favorable, more livable parts of the) Earth.

It would have been far better for the world, if this troublesome race Cassars had been totally expunged; however, by consensus of the elders of Karn, Cassars had been subjugated (bested by the utilization of ice or water) though spared from total annihilation.

03- (ELDERS OF KARN)

Elders of Karn had, moreover, additionally afforded mankind that definite measure of safety- by constraining, rather, indefinitely imprisoning few spared Cassars, in the protective water crystal amulet that selected members of Karn wore. It was a bane (burden) to be endured till the end of time. In the unlikely event the prior custodian would expire, the amulet would then be (transferred) bequeathed to the offspring sharing the same genetic factor.  Now under normal circumstances, Zonar’s immortal father would have discussed in detail the amulet’s range of powers and, even given his son some necessary, precise instructions (pointers) to maintain absolute control over the imprisoned entity; however, Zonar, sent away for his own safety at an early age to grow up among anonymous mortal family, had never been afforded this opportunity.

Furthermore, the subsequent bizarre circumstances that elicited (caused) the premature, atypical (odd) demise of renegade Immortal Zandar Kuntzu, and hence, well before Zonar could master the amulet’s intransigent powers, Cassar entity called Mokak, with his resourcefulness had once, successfully affected its escape from captivity. (Check out: Legend of Nevetsecnuac, Book 2 titled The Ordeal, more precisely, Section 8, where Mokak is mentioned.)

At that time Zonar, wanting to know more about this amulet and the entity it contained, had avidly perused those veiled (oblique, coded) secret teachings his father Zandar Kunzu had left with him, but since the situation of escape (of any Cassar) had never once transpired  (occurred), not while the amulet had been in his father’s safekeeping, it had taken Zonar many more months of quest and sheer luck, to capture and re-enslave sly Mokak (later renamed Jekor ) in the crystal Amulet. Since then, Zonar on his own merit, through trial and error, utilizing his brilliant and discerning mind, had discovered few more facets of the amulet’s varied, multitude powers.

04 - ZONAR KUNTZU

Currently,  during combat with Nevetsecnuac,  when the amulet broke in two this, despite Zonar’s stoic, stone countenance-  mindful of the now matured and at large entity’s, Jekor (Mokak)’s inherently grown prowess’s and the unimaginable, portended havoc he could unleash on the unsuspecting world and on both (mortal and immortal) realms- seriously troubled Zonar.  Anticipating the arduous task of, recapturing this willy, artful and now more potent menace, caused Zonar to, pensively (thoughtfully) but with unreadable expression,  glance away.

05- (MOKAK- ALSO KNOWN AS JEKOR)

Sensing only an inkling of the magnitude (scope) of the dire circumstance, Nevetsecnuac knitted his brows, and covertly pinned his questioning gaze on Zonar; as he, same time fought the ominous foreboding that had suddenly vice-griped his heart. “Had he inadvertently, seriously harmed his benefactor Zonar by damaging the (potent)amulet, in the course of it, ending any chance of his enlisting Zonar future guidance?”

Nevetsecnuac now hastened to ask the latter’s forgiveness but Zonar, after his fleeting icy, contemptuous glare, simply snorted and again looked away. But then in afterthought, he’d quickly passed it off as fate and dispassionately shrugged his shoulders; determined not to let this rare opportunity (of further testing his nephew) be wasted, he just unfastened the clasp and removed the chain, with the broken amulet ( crack in the middle now emitting no light) still precariously hanging from it, from around his neck, then walking to the edge of a high precipice, hurled it into river.  He watched its descent, it being swallowed by the fast-flowing waters then, with a changed, resigned expression on his face, inclined (turned) his head to grimace wryly at Nevetsecnuac.

Afterwards he simply walked back with large strides and halting few inches away from Nevetsecnuac, cooly proposed that they might as well continue the combat. When Nevetsecnuac showed some reluctance to engage him, his short temper flared, and he roared in fury: “You dare to insult me?” And then in lightening speed launched his murderous assault.

Forsaking his reserve, Nevetsecnuac fought back, at first on the defensive but soon shifting to the offense.

06- NEVETSECNUAC FIGHTS ZONAR

The two combatants consequently, as one successive blur to the naked eye endlessly fought on in a dizzying whirlwind, or, in unrelenting fierce deadlock, back and forth, well into the night. The Earth rumbled incessantly at their extraordinary might while Heaven knew no peace from the sheer intensity of their powerful strikes. Once, as if in protest, a mounting flotilla of dark clouds congregated to shroud the moon and the stars, following it with angry rumbling and streaks of lighting miring (marking) the sky; meanwhile, quaking ground underfoot at times shook the soil (earth), debree and boulders loose, uprooting trees, creating gashes or deep chasms, to enforce termination of the relentless, vigorous combat. But still undaunted, the battle had raged on without ceasing in intensity.  And when the first rays of dawn finally broke from hurrying (sailing) clouds, for Heaven had had enough, the rising gale winds punishingly swept across the Earth. Thunder and lightning more repetitiously now crashed about them and alight trees threatened to scorch them and reduce them to cinders. Subsequently, the torrential rains changed into hailstones, pounded mercilessly on their heads and turned the ground underfoot into muddy rivers.

Their persistence prevailing over Heaven’s will, eventually, by about noon of the third day, the skies cleared up. The brilliant sun’s golden rays bathed the drenched Earth and enveloped the brave warriors in sweltering heat as they still fought on.

07- ZONAR FIGHTS NEVETS (15)

Suddenly however, Zonar, in mid blow, stayed his hand and leapt out of the circle of combat once more.

“Enough, I see now that a thousand more rounds will not engender your defeat. I therefore salute you sir, as a true and unequivocal equal.  Despite your age, you bear the singular mark of a great warrior.”

Throwing back his head, he laughed uproariously.  “Ha!  Ha!  This is what I needed most to shake myself out of my complacency.  I thank you, sir, for this most invaluable lesson.”  Assuming a more serious expression, he then bowed low to Nevetsecnuac (his nephew) in deep respect.

Bowing also, Nevetsecnuac reciprocated the courtesy.

“The honor is mine, sir, to have even met by half measure your outstanding abilities.”

He next voiced his heart felt desire to become Zonar’s tyro (novice, trainee, acolyte, follower, student).

“Though a feasible consideration, it’s not convenient for me to accede at this time.” Clenching his fist and musing, Zonar looked away in silence.

Zonar was in fact beginning to worry, having lingered in one spot (and time zone) far too long; therefore, risking being discovered by his ardent nemesis bent on his destruction.

Stealing a glance at Nevetsecnuac from the corner of his eye, he further mused, “Yes in many ways, you remind me of Tuko.  Had my mortal younger brother, survived the massacre he may have turned out exactly like you.  But no!  It’s not time yet… And furthermore, with so much at stake, I can ill afford the indolence of sentiment, hence, jeopardy (risk, hazard).”  Nevertheless, he felt constrained to give Nevetsecnuac, a palpable (tangible, convincing) excuse.

“I am tempted, sir. But I fear that such, is out of the question!” Zonar finally spoke in a restrained, somber voice.

He bit his lip, “To befriend you, my sworn enemy? Wenjenkun and Korion, two strong adversary nations, will not do; for long exists the lethal animosity, toxic rivalry between (our countrymen) both.”

He knit his brows and with clenched fists, he simply looked away.

“Ney; for it would mean violating every fabric of my…. and forsaking loyalty to my Sovereign.  How can I then, face my countrymen with dignity?”

08- NEVETSECNUAC DISSAPPOINTED

As Nevetsecnuac, eyeing him curiously, remained lost for words, Zonar forced a smile onto his pallid lips then, as if in an afterthought, faced Nevetsecnuac and inclined his head gallantly.

“My name, sir, in all confidence, is Zonar Kuntzu.  I’m a native of Korion, born thirty-two years ago.  That much I will divulge, for you have well earned the right to know it.  We will be meeting again, though under what circumstances I cannot rightly predict.  I pray, however, that when that happens you will not judge me too harshly.  Each of us must follow the bidding of our loyal heart.  Remember well my parting words: ‘Even if I fail, I will not fail.’ “

Nevetsecnuac bowed to him in gratitude for the civil negation (rejection, snub) but, when he lifted his eyes to confess his own true name, the words froze on his tongue for, once more, Zonar had vanished into thin air without a trace.

Nevetsecnuac nodded his head in deep understanding.

“Yes, we are kindred spirits and, it is evident we share similar fate. Zonar Kuntzu, bound by duty, you are also headed for that uncertain future (prospects)! Existing briefly perhaps on this Earth, though more certainly me, we stive hard to accomplish that vital and arduous task, for which only we are destined to do.”

“Till we meet again my friend; I am Nevetsecnuac Alric Therran Valamir.” Nevetsecnuac whispered after Zonar, his eyes brimmed with tears.

“I wish you well and, bid you fond farewell, my esteemed, elder brother.”

Nevetsecnuac subsequently retrieved the gift, the sword, and after wiping the blade clean and sheathing it (placing it back in its scabbard), inwardly invoked the word: Lomelak. The magnificent sword (with its casing) instantly shrunk and reverted to an ordinary writing brush. Nevetsecnuac was ecstatic; he’d never owned a magical sword before. Desiring to test it again, he this time inwardly uttered (articulated) the word: Lohcnilik. Lo and behold, the writing brush instantly became the magnificent, sheathed sword again. And when it was again transformed into a writing brush, jubilant (thrilled) Nevetsecnuac secured it on his person. He then quickly gathered up his belongings and, not looking back, catapulted onto his horse, and raced towards the Capital, the mare’s hooves churning up a cloud of dust behind him.
